Lies

This expression on my face,
The one that all can see.
It shows so little of what I feel,
Of whats inside of me.
Everyday I wake up,
I tell myself a lie.
The words I say are full of foolish crap,
'Today's going to be better,'
'Life's will be as it used to be,'
'Everything will be alright.'
Lies,
All of them filthy lies.
Today's going to get worse,
Life will change,
Nothing will be alright.
That is in truth, reality.
Blood will flow as red.
Tears will be as salty.
The world will be as harsh.
Would you even care if I stopped talking to you?
Would you notice at all?
Apparently nothing I have to say is important anymore.
I will fade into dark,
And make all the threats I could apparently never do real.
These wings I've grown,
We both tear them out.
I, because it is what I've always done,
You, because you have no right to.
What use are wings if you can never fly?
My blood runs as red as any other,
I've bled many a times,
Though I'm never thought of as a person any more,
Just something that's feelings can never be hurt.
But go ahead and give me your world's harsh words,
Show me how much you all care.
Tell me that I'm worthless,
Tell me that I'm a waste of time,
I'll show you what's left of a soul that's inside of me.
